ESMO Breast 2024 | Evaluating the safety of T-DXd with radiotherapy in HER2+ metastatic breast cancer

Icro Meattini, MD, University of Florence, Florence, Italy, discusses findings from a study assessing trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) with radiotherapy in patients with HER2+ metastatic breast cancer. The primary outcome was the association of radiotherapy with adverse events higher than grade 2. Results indicated no significant increase in severe toxicity from concurrent radiotherapy. Encouraging initial findings suggest the combination is safe, warranting further investigation in larger cohorts. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
