BTOG 2022 | Optimizing lung cancer outcomes with early diagnosis and prehabilitation
Matthew Evison, MD, University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester, UK, describes non-treatment related strategies to reduce mortality in patients with lung cancer, including improving early diagnosis so patients can be identified and given appropriate therapies sooner. Dr Evison also highlights how smoking cessation and prehabilitation can benefit patients. However, additional funding is required for successful adoption of prehabilitation and for patients to see long-term benefits. This interview took place at the 20th Annual British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) Conference 2022.
