WCLC 2024 | ALINA: evaluating the safety of adjuvant alectinib for ALK+ NSCLC

Hidehito Horinouchi, MD, PhD, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan, discusses the safety outcomes of the Phase III ALINA trial (NCT03456076) of adjuvant alectinib versus chemotherapy in resected stage IB-IIIA ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Alectinib demonstrated significant disease-free survival benefits, and common adverse events (AEs) such as increased blood creatine phosphokinase (CPK), constipation, and elevated liver enzymes were reported. Most AEs were mild, manageable, and rarely required dose modifications. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
