Natalie Vokes, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, comments on the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in KRAS-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). KRAS-mutated lung cancer has shown to be very responsive to immunotherapy, but outcomes may differ based on the mutation subtype. KRAS G12D, which are more common in never smokers than G12C, are more responsive to checkpoint inhibitors. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
