BCC 2025 | Survivorship challenges in young patients with breast cancer

Cynthia Villarreal-Garza, MD, DSc, TecSalud, Monterrey, Mexico, emphasizes the importance of highlighting long-term toxicities in young patients with breast cancer, who often experience more severe side effects due to prolonged and more intense treatments. Proactive efforts are needed to identify these toxicities, as the survivorship phase often overlooks the unique challenges faced by young patients. This interview took place at the 2025 St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Consensus Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
