ASCO 2026 | Neoadjuvant cemiplimab in HHI-naive head & neck basal cell carcinoma

Hannah Kenny, MD, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, explores findings from a Phase II trial (NCT05929664) of neoadjuvant cemiplimab in patients with resectable, hedgehog inhibitor (HHI)-naive basal cell carcinoma of the head and neck (BCCHN). Results demonstrated promising efficacy, with a favorable overall response rate and surgical benefit rate, alongside an acceptable safety profile, suggesting this approach may reduce the morbidity associated with subsequent surgical resection in this patient population. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
