ESMO 2026 | How will the treatment landscape for uveal melanoma change in the future?

Sapna Patel, MD, Colorado Cancer Center, Aurora, CO, highlights the potential for a paradigm shift in the treatment of metastatic uveal melanoma, with emerging data on targeted therapies, such as tebentafusp and melphalan via percutaneous hepatic perfusion, offering new possibilities for tumor control. While these advancements may not lead to cures or long-term control, they will allow for exploration of sequencing and combination strategies, similar to those used in skin melanoma. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2026 Congress in Madrid, Spain.
