Juan Manuel O’Connor, MD, MSc, is Head of Gastrointestinal Cancer and Associate Professor of Clinical Oncology at Instituto Alexander Fleming, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prof. O’Connor obtained his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste, Corrientes, Argentina, and completed his fellowship in Clinical Oncology at the University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Previously assistant professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the School of Medicine of the Instituto Universitario CEMIC, Buenos Aires, he is also a founder of the Argentine Group of Neuroendocrine Tumors (ARGENTUM) and continues to be an active member of both the Advisory Board of the European Society of Neuroendocrine Tumors and American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).

Prof. O’Connor specializes in gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine cancers, and has published more than 50 papers and chapters of books around the topic. He is internationally renowned for his work, and has received several awards for his contribution to neuroendocrine tumour research.
