ASCO 2026 | Insights into KB707, a novel, inhalable HSV-based gene therapy for NSCLC

Wen Wee Ma, MBBS, Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute, Cleveland, OH, shares insight into KB707, a novel HSV-based immunotherapy, delivered by inhlation for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). While IL-2 and IL-12 have been tested for decades, systemic administration of IL-12 is limited by unacceptable side effects, and KB707’s inhalation delivery method may offer a more targeted approach, with promising activity observed in monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
