Disparities in clinical trial recruitment can be attributed to poorer social determinants of health in communities of color including worse transportation access to medical sites. Carmen Guerra, MD, MSCE, FACP, Perlman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, describes current strategies to enhance clinical trial participation amongst people of color. Various community outreach programs that can facilitate or reimburse transport, as well as working with faith-based organizations and local business can increase accessibility and awareness of clinical trials. This interview took place at the 37th Annual Meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy in Cancer (SITC 2022) in Boston, MA.
