ELCC 2021 | Surgery for oligometastatic lung cancer

Paul Van Schil, MD, PhD, Antwerp University Hospital, Edegem, Belgium, discusses the role of surgery in patients with oligometastatic lung cancer, highlighting the use of local consolidative treatment for patients with limited metastatic disease and giving a case study as an example. Prof. Van Schil summarizes data on the use of surgery in patients with oligometastatic lung cancer, highlighting the importance of complete nodal dissection to determine prognosis, and data from a randomized Phase II trial investigating local consolidative therapy versus maintenance therapy in patients with limited metastatic lung cancer.
