WCLC 2024 | Selecting individuals for lung cancer screening based on life expectancy

Kevin ten Haaf, PhD, Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam, Netherlands, comments on how clinicians should consider the life expectancy of individuals when screening for lung cancer. Whilst there is uncertainty about how long a patient will live and that their life expectancy may be over- or underestimated, healthcare professionals need to have a certain level of confidence in determining the life expectancy for individuals in the clinic. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
