Timothy Yap, MBBS, PhD, FRCP, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the development of Werner helicase inhibitors in microsatellite instability high (MSI-H) and mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) tumors. Prof. Yap explores the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with MSI-H or dMMR tumors, the mechanism of action of Werner helicase inhibitors, preclinical data, and trials which are exploring these therapies in patients.
