ELCC 2025 | Evaluating SBRT and immunotherapy in early-stage NSCLC

Andrea Filippi, MD, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milano, Italy, provides an overview of current research on combining stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) with immunotherapy in patients with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are unfit for surgery due to age, frailty, or comorbidities. Dr Filippi highlights both the promising therapeutic potential and the complexities of this approach, noting that while several studies show encouraging outcomes, challenges remain in this difficult-to-treat population. This interview took place at the European Lung Cancer Congress (ELCC) 2025 in Paris, France.
