BTOG 2025 | Ongoing lung cancer trials and the potential of Trop2 biomarker at BTOG 2025

Tom Newsom-Davis, BSc, MBBS, PhD, FRCP, from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, discusses ongoing lung cancer trials. He highlights the Trop2 biomarker, specifically the NMR (nuclear membrane ratio) platform, as one of the most exciting developments. Data presented at the WCLC 2024 meeting suggested that patients who were Trop2-positive on this platform had better outcomes with the drug compared to those who were Trop2-negative. Dr Newsom-Davis points to the TROPION-Lung17 study, which, though not yet running, is expected to investigate the efficacy of datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) in patients with relapsed non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are Trop2-positive using the NMR platform. He anticipates that this study will begin within the next year and will provide valuable insights. This interview took place at the BTOG 2025 congress in Belfast, UK.
