Javier Martin-Broto, MD, PhD, Fundación Jimenez Diaz University Hospital, Madrid, Spain, discusses cohort 7a results from theIMMUNOSARC II trial (NCT03277924), Phase Ib study of epirubicin and ifosfamide plus nivolumab in first-line (1L) for advanced undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS). The trial demonstrated manageable toxicity similar to standard chemotherapy alone, with remarkable efficacy results. The combination achieved an exceptional 68.8% overall response rate (ORR), substantially higher than typical first-line treatments for advanced UPS. This translated into a median progression-free survival (PFS) of approximately 10 months and a 12-month overall survival (OS) rate exceeding 80%. Notably, the median duration of response was not yet reached, with 67% of responding patients remaining progression-free at 18 months, indicating durable responses and promising potential for this chemoimmunotherapy approach. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
