BTOG 2025 | The value of mental health services for cancer patients of increased deprivation

Laura-Jane Smith, MBBChir, BA (Hons), FRCP(Resp), Dip(ClinEd), FHEA iBSLM, Kings College Hospital, London, UK, describes the value of 1-to-1 nursing mental health services for lung cancer patients in areas of higher deprivation. A decrease in do-not-attend (DNA) rates, and increase in patient experience and outcome, demonstrates the value of expanding these services to areas, outside of London, that have similar population challenges. This interview took place at the BTOG 2025 congress in Belfast, UK.
