ELCC 2026 | Reshaping the boundaries of resectable and unresectable stage III NSCLC

Brendon Stiles, MD, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, NY, comments on the evolving landscape of stage III disease treatment, suggesting that the boundaries between resectable and unresectable are becoming obsolete as treatment decisions are increasingly based on tumor biology. Dr Stiles emphasizes the importance of administering the best systemic therapy first, which may involve a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy or targeted therapy, and then tailoring local therapy to the residual tumor. This interview took place at the 2026 European Lung Cancer Congress in Copenhagen Denmark.
