WCLC 2024 | Evaluating the role of surgery in early non-small cell lung cancer

Paul van Schil, MD, PhD, University Hospital Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium, discusses current treatment options for patients with early non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Whilst surgery is standard of care in this setting, questions still remain in terms of how minimally invasive surgery should be conducted, and whether surgery should be combined with other modalities. The CALGB 140503 trial (NCT00499330) additionally compares lobar or sublobar surgery for NSCLC. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
