ASCO 2026 | EGFR amplification predicts poorer outcomes with 1L osimertinib in EGFR-m NSCLC
Alessandro Di Federico, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses findings from a multi-institutional retrospective study evaluating the clinical significance of EGFR amplification in patients with EGFR-mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with first-line (1L) osimertinib. Dr Di Federico highlights the association between EGFR amplification and poorer progression-free and overall survival, as well as distinct metastatic and molecular characteristics, including higher rates of TP53 and MET alterations. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
